Brook Trout Lateral Line Development

In this paper being prepared for publication we investigated the development of the lateral line in brook trout and discovered this species is a fascinating case study for understanding evolution of the lateral line system in salmonids and bony fishes more broadly.

Brook Trout Lateral Line Development Under Climate Change

In this paper being prepared for publication, we investigated how increased temperatures resulting from climate change impact lateral line development in brook trout which has serious behavioral and ecological implications.

Silverjaw Minnow Lateral Line Morphology & Behavioral Role

In this paper being prepared for publication, we investigated the morphology of a unique lateral line morphology in the silverjaw minnow and tested it's significance in prey localization behavior.

Silverjaw & Fathead Minnow Lateral Line Development

In this paper being prepared for publication, we investigated the ontogenetic origins of the unique lateral line system in silverjaw minnows by completing an ontogenetic study of silverjaw and fathead minnows, a close relative to silverjaw minnows.

Harbor Seal Whisker Innervation

In this study, we examined the innervation patterns of harbor seal whiskers to determine whether specialization in the innervation patterns was correlated with documented hydrodynamic trail-following behavior. Photo courtesy of Christopher Marshall.
